Sweet Auburn BBQ

The Experience

We visited on 5/22/22 after a visit to Highland Row Antiques (now closed). I did not know this restaurant was an Asian fusion BBQ similar to Heirloom Market BBQ. Similar, but not the same.

For an appetizer we and the pimento cheese wontons, and they were awesome.  Could just eat plates of those.

From the bar I got a  Don’t Burn Down the House (old fashioned) and my wife got a white sangria (says the best she has had!).

I had the pulled pork plate with collards and beans, and together we shared an extra side of pear slaw (just coleslaw with pear added, not overly special). The pork was very good, shredded in clean long shreds, and not overly smokey. My wife got the Southern Seoul sandwich.  Very good.  Korean steak much like a bahn mi.  She had mac ‘n cheese as side which was very good as well. Sauces are one vinegar-based (already on pork) and one dark thicker sauce (neat take, very sweet to start and then gets a little heat). I ate the vinegar on the pork, used the darker as dip for the included texas toast.  Pickles and pickled onions included on plates was very good as well.  The collards were the best side of all. All sides were good and made on-site.

Overall very good.
